CMS Website Security
Posted on Mar 12, 2012 in Blog | 4 commentsWhy businesses ignore their Website security?
We have been recently victim of an attack as a result of using CMS Website products that was not updated properly, thus the website security was compromised . Although we took many measure to mitigate any subversive actions, we still did left one door open and that was the door that was used to enter into our system. There businesses should take their website security seriously.
Since we started rank very well in Google search engine, my website has attracted unnecessary attention, and every month record at least free attempts of illegal access to our website. We are talking about a website that has only products and services information and keep no customers data on its database because we are PCI compliant, everything automatically stored by a 3rd party secure IT Systems.
If there’s one factor that individuals don’t want to endure when they’re online, it’s a hacker that disturbs their online experience as well as the effect of loosing your key information files that are on your computer. This is blog take a look at how hacking is still a big security threat for websites and just how you can make sure that you secure what is important you while you still enjoy your online experience.
One way that computer are victim of illegal access and hacking is the installation unknowingly of harmful software in computers, mobile devices and laptop, in turn this help the breach your network security perimeter. Most of harmful software come in a form of adware, spyware, and bot right into a computer without your knowledge. But the big question is how do you get these harmful software into your computer laptop and mobile devices?
It is very simple to get your computers, laptops and mobile devices or even servers, this can be by visiting a compromised website, installation of an application with a hidden code or to simple old fashion hacking where illegal access is gain and the operating system and applications are compromised. In our experience and customers who have worked with us on security issues, we find that that hackers changed some important files in their website and compromised your Website Security by adding some new files that will be in turn uploaded into visitors machines. This is why it is very important to keep a backup of your full website as this is your only real insurance.
Some hacking techniques just focus on stealing specific information that can be sold to other groups who will use it for a purpose that I do not want to disclose in this article. This may including telephone numbers, usernames, password, addresses, personal data of your customers. In some instances, a hacker might have with additional control within the adware and spyware which can be used for DDOS attacked in my previous role I experienced these kind of attacks, luckily we were able to stop them.
Oftentimes, intruders used what is called junk email that look like it is coming from a real corporation, my my experience I have seen emails with bot and malicious code that is coming from a look like a Bank, the IRS, DHL, the Postal office etc….. They are able to send infections code along with other bits of adware and spyware which will give the intruders a total control over your systems. Many people might not understand that the email with a genuine title is coming from intruders, simply because these emails look like legitimate messages from a very trusted organisation. This is one of the common cause of breaches within the organisation that we have worked with regard to IT Security and CMS Website Security.
I’d have to check with you here. Which is not something I usually do! I enjoy reading a post that will make people think. Also, thanks for allowing me to comment!
Greetings! This is my first visit to your blog! We are a collection of volunteers and starting a new project in a community in the same niche. Your blog provided us useful information to work on. You have done a marvellous job!
Howdy are using WordPress for your site platform? I’m new to the blog world but I’m trying to get started and set up my own. Do you need any coding knowledge to make your own blog? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
When I initially commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get several e-mails with the same comment. Is there any way you can remove me from that service? Many thanks!
